What to include
It saves a round trip if your first message says:
- which app, and its version — in the app's menu, its name, then About;
- your macOS version — the Apple menu, then About This Mac;
- what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead;
- a screenshot, if there is something to see.
Tenkey Typing Tutor
Our typing tutor for the Mac. The questions we are asked most are answered here, and you can always write to us instead.
What it needs
macOS 13 or later. The numpad course teaches the keypad on the right of a full-size keyboard, so it needs one: a MacBook's built-in keyboard has no keypad, and the number row above the letters does not count.
“These keys come from a different input source”
Tenkey checks every key you press against the layout you chose. When the characters do not match, your Mac is set to another input source. Switch it to the one Tenkey names, from the input menu in the menu bar, or add it in System Settings → Keyboard → Text Input.
Where is my history?
In one file inside Tenkey's own folder on your Mac, and nowhere else. Nothing is uploaded, so nothing depends on us keeping a server running. The app's support page gives the exact path.
Starting over
Quit Tenkey, move that file out of its folder, and the app starts a new, empty history the next time it opens. Nothing is deleted behind your back: when Tenkey itself has to reset a damaged history, it renames the old file and keeps it beside the new one.

Purchases and refunds
Our apps on the Mac App Store are sold by Apple, which handles the payment, the receipt and any refund: ask Apple for one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing of ours is on the Mac App Store yet — Tenkey Typing Tutor will be the first. If something in an app is wrong, tell us too, so we can fix it.
